President of the Advising Committee

Professor at University Paris II and President of the advising committee of the CRDH, Emmanuel Decaux has also directed the doctoral School of international law, European law, international relations and comparative law at University Paris II since 2012. He was the director of the CRDH and responsible for the M2 human rights law and humanitarian law degree for more than ten years, from 2003 to 2014.

He was reelected, for a new four-year term, as committee member of the Forced Disappearances Committee (2015-2019 ). He has been the Chair of the Committee since it’s creation in 2011 and was named Chairperson of the 27 ° meeting of the presidents on the treaties of human rights of the United Nations in 2015. As a former member of the Subcommittee on Human Rights in the United Nations (deputy from 1994 till 2002, tenure holder from 2002 till 2007), he was consultative committee member of the Council of Human Rights ( 2008-2011) and Reporter for the editing board on the UN Declaration on the education and the formation of Human Rights.

Sitting on the National Consultative Committee of human rights (CNCDH) since 1992, he was elected Vice-President from 2009 till 2012. He has been chair of the group “International Questions ” since 2012.
